Notts Gymnastics Academy had 3 WA and 3 MA gymnasts competing at the Espoir championships in Essex. The WA gymnasts kicked started the weekend with Caitlin, Bella and Scarlett competing. The 3 girls performed fabulous new skills, all sticking their beam routines and showed dynamic tumbles on floor. Both Caitlin and Scarlett successfully performed a straight yuchenko vault for the first time and all 3 girls performed releases on bars, with Scarlett executing the double straight dismount and Cailtin a 1/1 out.
Scarlett with a clean compeitoin placed 5th overall (2nd for her age group), whilst Caitlin carrying one fall on bars finished 9th (4th for her age group). Bella with some new skills and a couple of falls finished 32nd (16th for her age group).

Caitlin qualified for the vault and beam final, whilst Scarlett qualified for vault and bars. At their first apparatus finals the girls enjoyed their experience. Scarlett finished 4th on vault anf Caitlin 7th. Scarlett placed 6th on bars and Caitlin 8th on beam.

The MA boys competed on the Sunday within the Under 14 Championships, with Tyla-Jae Curtis, Matt Boardman and Sam Plant competing. Tyla had a brilliant competition, going clean up until the last piece with just an unfortunate mistake on the floor. He produced a fantastic pommel routine, boasting one of the highest start values and finished in 11th place on the apparatus, and 28th all-around. Sam Plant also had a great competition, with another impressive floor performance following the London Open. Matt Boardman included many new skills and produced an impressive parallel bar, high bar and rings, with a fantastic all-around score of 70.432 claiming 16th place. The highlight of the day was Matts performance on floor. He had the highest difficulty of the day, scoring 13.733 and achieving 2nd place, just 0.1 off gold!
