On Saturday 23rd April, the Notts boys traveled to New College, Leicester for the East Midlands Apparatus championships.
The competition began with the U8 and U9 boys which included Lucas Bowen, Noah Farnsworth, Zakaine Fawzi, Callum Haywood, Alfie Heard, James Norman and Oscar Sampson. For the majority this was their first competition, but it did not show as they all performed with confidence. Callum Haywood produced a great performance on Pommel and High bar to claim bronze, as well as Lucas Bowen who claimed silver on pommel and rings, and bronze on parallel bars and high bar. Zakaine Fawzi excelled with a very assured performance, claiming the floor, pommel and high bar titles, as well as silver on vault and parallel bars.

In the U10 competition, Kaydon Kennedy, Kian Keogh, Archie Latter, Ethan Norris, Louis O’Keefe, Jack Reyes, Colbi Curtis, Charlie Gardner and Jake Harrington were involved. All of the boys showed significant improvement from previous competitions, displaying much greater confidence and style. Kian and Charlie produced fantastic performances on the rings and pommel respectively to claim the silver medal. Colbi Curtis had a brilliant competition, claiming silver on the floor and high bar, as well as bronze on pommel and parallel bars. Jack Reyes also produced a clean routine on high bar to achieve the bronze medal!

Harry Clarke, Leo Hoggard, Harry Norman and Tobi Watson competed in the U11 competition, all 4 competed very well and claimed medals. Leo Hoggard performed a very difficult pommel horse routine with confidence and style to achieve the silver medal. Harry Norman and Tobi Watson performed fine parallel bars and rings routines to claim the bronze medal. Harry Clarke excelled, claiming the Vault title, as well as bronze on rings.

Liam Jury and Luke Harrington were involved in the U12 competition. Luke produced a confident performance, claiming silver on rings and bronze on floor. Liam dominated the age group, claiming the floor, rings and parallel bars titles, a well as silver on vault and high bar.

In the U13 category, Joel Milner produced a strong performance on floor, rings, vault and parallel bars. A brilliant vault won him the title, as well as bronze on floor.
In the open age category, Sam Plant and Tom Morley competed. Tom competed on floor and vault, producing 2 brilliant routines and achieving both the floor and vault titles. Sam Plant also competed with confidence, claiming the pommel and rings titles, as well as silver on floor and high bar.
