Hello everyone,
My name is Amy White, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the new Wellbeing and Pastoral Lead here at Notts Gymnastics Academy.
Some of you may already know me from my time as Lead Welfare Officer, a voluntary role I’ve proudly held for the past six years. Safeguarding will remain a key part of my work, but my role is now expanding to reflect the Academy’s commitment to investing more deeply in the wellbeing of our entire community – gymnasts, coaches, and families alike.
You’ll often see me on the gym floor, making sure that our gymnasts and coaches feel listened to, supported, and valued throughout their journey with NGA. Alongside this, I’ll be building on our wellbeing procedures, training, and initiatives, while continuing to connect with parents whenever support is needed.
Outside of gymnastics, I bring many years of professional experience in corporate communications, along with specialist training in child behaviour and mental health support. I’m also a mum to two neurodiverse sons, with lived experience in supporting children from care-experienced and trauma backgrounds. My journey with NGA began in 2019, when my youngest son joined disability gymnastics. While I’ve picked up a lot about gymnastics along the way, my focus has always been – and will always remain – on the child’s experience rather than the technical elements of the sport.
I’m really excited about this new chapter and about working together to make sure every member of NGA feels supported, understood, and encouraged to thrive. I look forward to meeting as many gymnasts as possible over the next few months, and many of you. If you have any immediate feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me on wThis email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
