Why Gymnastics?

Gymnastics opens many doors. The spectrum of skills developed in gymnastics is so broad that it is a fantastic foundation for any type of sport or exercise, and the mental skills taught in gymnastics can be used to succeed throughout life. Gymnastics develops passion as well as helping create a well-balanced, fit, healthy & happy individual who will be well equipped to face life’s challenges.

Our parent / carer supported and independent structured classes are a great way to introduce your child to gymnastics, an amazing sport which helps children develop life-long skills. We provide fun and enjoyable gymnastics sessions in a safe environment.

We begin with our PreSchool movement sessions for babies, toddlers and children with or without their parents. We offer an introduction to gymnastics through play. Your child will learn to swing on a bar, roll in different ways, bounce on the trampette, use a spring board and walk on a beam. Their balance, co-ordination, physical development and social interaction will improve. We hope to increase self confidence, encourage children to try new things and achieve goals. Children also work towards proficiency pre-school badges.

Structured Classes

Structured classes run during term time and you will need to register in advance.

Our classes run at our gym on the Rushcliffe Spencer Academy site on Boundary Road in West Bridgford (NG2 7BW).

Our Classes

Toddler To 2 Years GymDots classes

A structured Parent & Child weekly class for our youngest gymnasts, from walking to age 2. A fun and engaging introduction to our fantastic sport led by our fully-trained PreSchool coaches.

2 years+ Parent/Child - Structured gymnastics classes for 2 year olds and above, and their parents. Coach led activities which differ each week.

The parents join in the class to reassure the children and to help build the relationship with the coach. A great starting place.

3+ years Independent - Structured gymnastics classes for 3 year olds and above, without parents. Coach led activities which differ each week.

For those children who have the confidence to try things on their own, without their parents’ involvement, with the encouragement and support of the coaches.

Which class?

Where your child starts depends on their age, and what works best for them. Some children prefer to have the support and familiarity of a parent while they get to know us. Some jump straight in! Many children start in the Parent & Child class, and move on to the Independent class, once they are ready.

You will need to register in advance for all our structured classes and there will be a wait if the classes are full. When starting, we offer introductory trial sessions to see if gymnastics is for your child and the classes work for you. before committing to fully enroling.

Session Structure

Each week, the sessions start with a warm-up activity and action song. The children are then split into smaller groups for gymnastics-based skills circuits. We finish with a hand / eye coordination activty and a goodbye song. The activities are tailored to the age and ability of the group.

See term timetable below for more details.
