Then why not come and train with them. We are offering the opportunity to train with Becky and Ellie, at their home club Notts Gymnastics Academy. They will be joined by other BG and England squad members, as well as their coaches. Get a chance to see how they condition, show them your skills and meet them personally.

At the annual Nottingham Post sports awards Ellie Downie won young sportsperson of the year following her amazing achievements in 2015. Up against tough competition Becky Downie was a finalist for sports women of the year and Notts gymnastics academy was a finalist for club of the year (an award we won last year). The academy, gymnasts and coaches are very proud of all of our achievement in and up to 2015!

Yesterday team GB women's squad made history by winning the bronze medal in the team final event at the world championships. With 3 gymnasts up and 3 scores to count the girls fought back from an early mistake to place 3rd. Becky Downie performed clean bar And beam routines, whilst Ellie also performed a fabulous beam. The British girls finished with 3 superb 2/1 twist yuchenkos with Ellie sealing the bronze medal. For all the results and action visit www.britishgymnastics.org

WELL DONE GIRLS, COACHES AND SUPPORT STAFF! GOOD LUCK FOR THE ALL AROUND AND APPARATUS FINAL! 

At the world championships this weekend, GB and many other nations started their bid to make the Rio 2016 Olympics. Automatic qualification was up for grabs for the top 8 nations. The brit girls were on Friday evening and performed superbly, they had to wait until Saturday evening to find out if they had secured qualification. Becky and Ellie Downie were part of the GB women's team who finished a history making 3rd place overall qualifying for not only Tuesday's team final but also the Rio OIympics.

In addition, Ellie qualified for the floor and vault final next weekend. Unfortunatley due to errors on bars she was kept out of the all-around final (with 2 GB gymnasts above her), Becky will also miss the bars final with an unfortunate fall. Both girls will help GB in their quest to fight for a team medal on Tuesday.
