Level 4 morning competition

Age 10 - Lucy Marriot, Aaliyah Risden, Steffi Mitchell, Elyse Hallam & Chantae Wilson

Age 12/13 - Jaymee Feely, Alicia McLeod

The Level 4 gymnasts started on Vault; Lucy and Aaliyah both had trouble with their run-up in warmup but both managed to produce two decent vaults each in competition. Jaymee, Steffi, Elyse, Chantae and Alicia all produced two solid Vaults each in competition. Next they moved to bars; Steffi, Elyse, Chantae, Aaliyah, Jaymee and Alicia performed nice, smooth bar routines. Lucy also performed a nice bar routine but unfortunately caught the bar slightly wrong after her squat on so she wasn't able to make it straight into the upstart, however she used her quick thinking and added in an extra swing which saved her from getting a fall. Next was beam; Lucy performed a solid beam routine with no falls, Aaliyah unfortunately had two falls but finished off her routine, Jaymee performed a nice routine but unfortunately fell on her flic, Alicia also performed a good routine but unfortunately fell on her cartwheel, Steffi went clear but was not able to connect her walkover flic, Chantae produced another solid routine, Elyse unfortunately made a couple of mistakes from which she couldn’t recover. Last was floor and all girls performed lovely, confident routines, Steffi competing full twist for the first time in a major competition and Elyse & Chantae both successfully executing their Front Somi, Round off, flic, tuck back combination for the first time.

Level 4 afternoon competition

sarah-hollie

Age 11 - Hollie Langley

Age 14 plus - Sarah Buckby

They both started on bars; Hollie performed a smooth bar routine with no problems, Sarah also performed a decent bar routine but unfortunately had two stops. They then moved to beam; Sarah performed a beautiful, solid beam routine with no falls, Hollie had a problem with her backwalkover in warmup and got distressed during her routine and was therefore unable to do the backwalkover but finished off her routine. They then moved to floor and both performed nice floor routines with Sarah managing to complete her punch front walkout which was a new tumble for her. Lastly they finished on vault; they both performed two solid vaults to finish off their competition.

Hollie finished in 16th place (Age 11)

Sarah finished in 7th place and also won gold for her excellent beam routine (Age 14 plus)

Well done girls.
