Ellie Downie: English Junior All-around champion with coaches Claire Starkey and Ian Kime.

Women's Senior: Nicole Pavier, Niamh Rippin, Kirsty Baldwin, Becky Downie, Katy Bramley

Well, a great weekend for Notts.

Although it was important to do a good competition, it was also the first competition on the new code and judges were fresh from their exams and courses. This meant that whilst we had quite a bit of info we didn't know exactly how the score would turn out.

For that reason the Notts girls had a few new elements they were trying but also sticking to some basics to see how the judges look at their routines.

The results were good for everybody.

Katy Bramley, at her first competition since her injury has recovered most of her skills, a fabulous new floor routine, but ran out of steam at the end but it will be great when she is completely fit. She worked a slightly watered down program and had a planned stop in the middle of bars and still finished 13th.

13th AA 46.800 Vault 13.250, Bars 10.600 Beam 7th 11.850 Floor 11.100

Kirsty Baldwin sailed through her work, now if she adds some of the skills she keeps in the bank she will be a real contender for a top 10 place at the British along with Katy.

9th AA 47.450 Vault 12.550, Bars 11.400, Beam 10th 11.350, Floor 8th 12.150

Nicole Pavier completed all her routines with a full program. She suffered 1 fall from beam and several form errors. Nicole doesn't need to add any more - just secure what she has to achieve a respectable British result.

16th AA Vault 12.500/12.150, Bars 10.950, Beam 10.400, Floor 11.100

Niamh Rippin worked a solid beam, but the judges wanted to see more amplitude and were quite hard on the score. On floor she demonstrated why she is the reigning British champ on this piece and is now the new English senior floor champion. A mistake on vault cost her the all around title and the vault title. Niamh finished in 2nd and won the floor title.

No footage of Niamh at the English 2013 but here she is performing her floor in Glasgow at the end of 2012.

2nd AA: Vault 13.150/12.400, Bars 5th12.250, Beam 4th12.400, Floor 1st 13.300

Becky Downie: The bars, however belonged the Becky, back from various injuries and still medically not allowed any hard landings, she sailed through a new routine to win the bar title with ease.

Sunday 3rd March

Women's Juniors: Megan Coates, Ellie Downie

Megan Coates competed beam and floor only. She performed these 2 pieces to the best of her ability, with no real errors, she now needs to up-grade her routines to get close to a British final in 3 weeks.
Beam 12.750 = 5th (=Tyesha Mattis) Floor 11.300

Ellie Downie looked relaxed and focussed in warm up. She sailed through a new floor and nailed a massive 13.5 for the floor title. She continued to show confidence and strength in all her work, the only error on beam was a new code ruling on her leap series that cost her 0.5, but even with this error the all around title was hers.

Junior Champion of England, Floor 1st 13.500, Vault 2nd 14.100/13.450, Beam 2nd 13.050, Bars 3rd 12.000.
