Ellie Downie wins Nottingham Post Young Sportsperson of the Year
Huge congratulations to Ellie Downie who has scooped the Young Sportsperson of the Year Award 2013 at Nottingham Post Sports Awards.
Accompanied by proud mum Helen she accepted the award but true to form was back in the gym by 7.30 the following morning, training hard as usual.
Well done Ellie and to all the coaching team at Notts.

The post report highlight:
"SPORT in Nottinghamshire was the winner last night at a sparkling celebration of the achievements of our superb sportsmen and women.
The great and the good of Notts sport, past and present, gathered at the East Midlands Conference Centre for an evening staged to acknowledge the county's sporting excellence.
You the readers had the chance to vote on 13 of the Nottingham Post Sports Awards categories since we launched this year's event in July.
Between then and the closing date in September, hundreds of votes came flooding in – both from in paper nomination forms and also via nottinghampost.com.
Ellie Downie, meanwhile, was the runner-up in the Young Sportsperson of the Year in 2012 but went one better this time around.
The Notts Gymnastics Academy teenage starlet won gold in the vault and silver in the team competition for Great Britain at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Utrecht, in the Netherlands earlier this year."
