Round 1 – A good competition for Susan Maghami’s first time competing at OA Level 5(12+). Susan’s vault placed her in 4th position just missing out on a bronze medal by .05 of a mark. Although Susan’s bar routine did not have full content it was clean and tight. Both Susan’s floor and beam routines were strong and well performed with just a couple of mistakes on each piece. Overall score of 42.15 put her into 9th position overall.
Round 2 – Charlotte Simpson and Kara Plaats (also Kara’s first competition at this level) both competed clean routines on beam, with both gymnasts sticking moves they had been struggling with leading up to the competition. Eve Humphreys and Sophia Checkley had falls on beam but came away happy with their overall performance. Bar routines were performed well by all gymnasts, but highlighted areas of improvement needed. Vault saw Eve score the 3rd and Charlotte score the 4th highest marks in their group, with Sophia and Kara placing 12th and 15th respectively. All the gymnasts performed their competition floor routines well with Charlotte placing 10th, Eve 11th, Kara 12th and Sophia 20th.

Both bar routines were smooth and without any stops just some small mistakes in execution saw Tanith place 19th and Jessie place 22nd. Jessie’s floor routine was her strongest performance to date. With powerful tumbles and beautifully executed floor skills s Jessie placed 12th. Tanith’s routine was equally well performed, however, she lost some valuable marks on her tumble runs and overall content but still finished in 22nd place. Tanith finished the day with a total score of 41.7 putting her in 29th overall with Jessie following close behind in 30th place overall with a score of 41.45
Sunday
Round 3 – Only Lucy Allan was competing for R1 on Sunday in the OA Level 3. Lucy’s bar routine was possibly the best she has ever performed, tight and smooth with a stuck dismount placed her in 9th place. With no falls just a few wobbles and execution faults, Lucy’s beam routine was clean with all her skills landed, placing her 14th in the group. A mistake on Lucy’s first vault saw her fight back on her second sticking her landing well and earning her 15th place. On floor Lucy pulled out all the stops on her tumbles including adding her full twist finishing in 18th place. With a total score of 42.05 Lucy finished the competition in 19th place.
A massive well done to all the gymnasts from R1 who competed this weekend and we can’t forget Amelia Coventry, Mollie Nichols and Darcy Cox who all supported Notts by running for the judges.
