Notts boys take 6 regional titles at EM Floor & Vault competition
A strong contingent of 30 Notts boys travelled to Leicester on Sunday 5th February to compete in the East Midlands Floor & Vault championships.
The U8 & U9 boys got the day off to a great start. Despite a mistake in his floor routine, Phoenix Frost competed a brilliant handspring vault to finish 14th in the U8 event. Alfie Heard and Callum Haywood performed new tumbles and a vault to finish 14th and 19th respectively. Lucas Bowen performed one of the most stylish floor routines of the day to achieve the 3rd highest score on floor and a 12th place finish. Noah Farnsworth also competed new tumbles in his floor routine, achieving a 4th place finish. Huge congratulations to Zakaine Fawzi-MccAffrey, who achieved the bronze medal after a confident display on the floor and a fine vault. Marty Jackson took the regional title with a brilliantly ‘stuck’ vault and impressive tumbles on the floor.

James Norman and Oscar Sampson produced confident performances in the U10 competition, and a strong performance on both pieces for Niall Storer earned him a 6th place finish! Competing for the club for the very first time in the U10 Non-Regional event was Alfie Bull and Lucas Booth-Clibborn. Alfie produced a strong vault and floor routine to achieve a 7th place finish. Lucas excelled with a fantastic vault, 0.55 higher than anyone else on the event as well as a confident floor routine to take 1st place! Fantastic achievement for the new members of the squad.
Harry Clarke, Leo Hoggard and Harry Norman competed well in the U12 competition. Confident routines from Harry Clarke and Leo earned them 6th and 4th place respectively. Huge congratulations to Harry Norman, who achieved 3rd place and the bronze medal after an extremely stylish routine on the floor.
Another boy competing for the club for the 1st time was Quentin Peberdy in the U12 Non-Regional event. Quentin achieved the second highest score on floor and the highest score on vault to achieve 2nd place and the silver medal!
Colbi Curtis, Kian Keogh, Kaydon Kennedy, Louis O’Keefe, Ethan Norris and Jack Reyes made up a strong contingent in the U11 category, with many boys including new tumbles in their routine for the first time. All boys performed well with Ethan finishing 18th, Jack 16th, Kaydon 13th, Colbi 11th and Louis 8th. Huge congratulations to Kian who performed brilliantly to achieve 3rd place and the bronze medal.

Liam Jury dominated the U14 event, with the highest scores on both vault and floor to achieve 1st place and the regional title. Liam Parkes, another boy competing for Notts for the 1st time also dominated the U14 Non-Regional event, winning both floor and vault to take the regional title. Matthew Boardman and Sam plant competed in the U16 event, both producing excellent routines to finish 1st and 2nd respectively. With a big difficulty score, Tom Morley produced the highest score in the U18 event on floor and achieved 1st place and the regional title.
