NEWGYMFORALL-SLIDER

Notts Gymnastics Academy strives to instill a lifelong appreciation of movement, exercise and sport whilst teaching children the rewards and qualities of dedication and hardwork.

Welcome to the Gymnastics for All (GFA) Programme

Gymnastics for All is the discipline which lets everyone, regardless of age or level of experience, enjoy and benefit from gymnastics.

Our goal, along with the MAG and WAG disciplines (see the Artisitic pages for more information), is to create healthy, 'happy souls' who enjoy and participate in gymnastics. GFA gymnasts will have the chance to work towards the British Gymnastics Core Proficiency Award Scheme (Badges) and compete in our GFA In-House competition. They will benefit physically through learning fundamental movement skills, learn discipline, perseverance and resilience, build their self-confidence and pride through their achievments in gymnastics, and make new friendships.

GFA at Notts Gymnastics Academy (NGA) delivers:

Weekly classes for school age children, gymnast-centred sessions for teenagers (our 11-17 classes), and specific sessions for those with disabilities

Drop-in sessions for adults, and dedicated sessions for members of the gymnastics societies at both of Nottingham's universities

GFA competitive squads (by invitation only) who enter County and Regional level competitions

GFA Weekly Classes

GFA classes will develop gymnasts through strength, flexibility, apparatus and group work. The classes we run throughout the week are:

 British Gymnastics Membership

British Gymnastics (BG) is the National Governing Body for gymnastics in the UK.

All members of NGA will need BG insurance - we will give you further instructions once your child has a place at NGA. Your BG insurance will be purchased directly through BG, and must be in place before they begin with us. This is a yearly membership. If you would like more information on British Gymnastics, you can find their link on our home page.

NGA Affiliation

All NGA members will pay an affiliation fee to the Academy once a year, at the start of the academic year, or when they first join.

Pathways

Gymnasts might join GFA from Preschool, we may be their first exepreince of gymnastics, or they might move to us from a Men's Artistic or Women's Artistic group.

GFA gymnasts may stay enjoying gymnastics recreationally, and move up through the age groups right up to our Adult classes. Some of our gymnasts also go on to assist with coaching, volunteering at events, or become qualified coaches and help the next generation to experience gymnastics.

Gymnasts may also be asked to trial for a GFA Competitive, a Men's Artistic or a Women's Artistic squad. Lots of our coaches also coach competitive squads, so are able to pick up on children who may benefit from a group move. We may email or speak to you in person if we think this is right for your child, but you only need to accept an offer of a trial if you want to.

The flowchart below explains the groups and pathway in our Gymnastics for All discipline.

In order for each gymnast to reach their full potential we provide various paths to follow. All gymnasts are individuals and will develop at their own rate. NGA's vision and pathway is to support each gymnast to help them to be the best they can be whilst providing a stimulating environment for them to enjoy their gymnastics. Decisions on gymnasts group are based around their age, development stage, commitment and individual needs.
