Competing in the Level 5, 12-13 years team, Charlotte had a strong start on vault with her half on half off. This was followed by Charlotte’s beautiful floor routine with powerful tumbles and graceful dance.

With solid performances on both pieces by Charlotte and her team mates, Notts took home a bronze medal for the county.

R1 & R2 compete at the English Bronze Championships

Categories // GFA News & Competitions

For the first time ever R1 & R2 GfA Squad members competed at the English Bronze, Silver and Gold Championships. For all the girls this was their first time entering a national competition and nerves were high.

Lily Hawthorne and Olivia Gladstone were first to compete in the junior bronze category. Both girls performed well on all pieces. Lily competed her upstarts on both low and high bar and Olivia nailed her round off flick tuck for the first time in competition, both fantastic individual achievements.

Kara Plaats, Honey Farnsworth, Lucy Willis and Molly Nicholls competed next in the intermediate bronze category. The girls delivered brilliant vaults and floor routines with Molly competing her half on half off for the first time in competition.

Last up for Notts GfA was Tanith Beresford, Jessie Mitchell, Lucy Allan, Jasmin Cooney, Eve Humphreys and Charlotte Simpson in the senior bronze category. The girls came in firing on all cylinders, and delivered solid bar routines and beautiful floors as well as Tanith placing 4th on vault. Beam proved tricky, with Jessie taking a big fall in warm ups, but went on to deliver her routine and recieved a standing ovation from the crowd!

Overall the girls did a fantastic job and came away with a great sense of achievement from competing in this national level event.

They did themselves and NGA proud, well done girls!

Notts Acro Gymnasts Relish their First Competition Experience

Categories // GFA News & Competitions

Notts Gymnastics Academy Acro attended their first ever acrobatics competition at New College Leicester.

The Long Eaton Acro and Loughborough Acro Gym Club Friendly was an ideal starter competition for our gymnasts allowing them to gain valuable experience of competition rules and standards in a more relaxed competition environment. As well as this, they also had the opportunity to watch higher level gymnasts competing and were inspired by some of the impressive performances.

The gymnasts performed well on the day showing confidence and maturity at their first competition in front of judges and a large audience.

Well done to all gymnasts who took part and special congratulations to Lucy Jackson and Millie Calder who took a bronze medal in the women’s pairs competition.

All of the gymnasts hope to work on the execution of their choreography and aim to compete with full start values within their current grade for the next competition.
