April Liwoshko 250px

Name: April Liwoshko

A little about April: I have been a Welfare Officer with NGA since 2010 as my daughter, Katie, trained in the Challenge group from the age of 11, before most recently gaining her Level 2 coaching qualification and looking after the littlest Women's development group.

As a result I have seen her grow up in a gymnastics environment encountering it's many challenges and emotions along the way. I believe this makes me able to relate to support the next generation of gymnasts.

When you can normally find me in the gym:

Now that Katie is away at University I am not around in the gym as much but I am really happy to be contacted over the phone or via email - as I understand sometimes it's easier to talk to someone outside of the gym.

Karen Reyes 250px

Name: Karen Reyes

A little about Karen: As a teacher and safeguarding lead in a range of different schools, I have worked for years with many children, their families and agencies to keep children safe.

With children in both the women's and men's disciplines, I understand the challenges families face in supporting their children on their gymnastics 'journey'. Often it is useful simply to have another contact to clarify something or to pass on information.

I am happy to be approached or called at any time, to raise a concern or to answer questions about welfare issues at the Academy. Please do feel welcome to stop me and chat.

When you can normally find me in the gym:

  • I am around most evenings from about 6pm and Saturdays after 12 noon. However, I am also more than happy to arrange to meet at a time to suit parents, just give me a call.

Are you interested in becoming an NGA Welfare Officer?

We are always keen to have more Welfare Officer's on board for the benefit of all our members.  A Welfare Officer is a hugely valuable and necessary role in the Academy and with our ever-growing membership we do welcome more qualified people who are able to provide support around safeguarding and welfare.

Please see the NGA Club Welfare Officer role profile.

Please do feel free to speak to one of our Welfare Officers or Nila Benfield (Business Support Manager) if you are interested or would like to apply.
