Sunday saw the greatly anticipated Masters finals in front of a sell out crowd. The Masters finals are individual apparatus finals which take the top 8 gymnast on each piece from across the Under 16, Under 18 and the Senior age groups. The floor final was up first which featured Matt Boardman and Andy Smith. Matt was the youngest gymnast in the event and showed real maturity under pressure to produce a nice clean routine which earned him 4th place, a fantastic achievement for this young man. Andy took to the floor and produced a majestic performance with lots of difficulty and impeccable execution to win gold and claim the title of 2017 Men's Masters floor Champion! An excellent achievement for Andy and great preparation for him as he sets his sights on the European Championships in April! The pommel final saw Sam Oldham step up against Britains best on the Pommel. An uncharacteristic error unfortunately led to a fall for Sam who came away in 8th place. Competing also in the Parallel Bars Masters final, Sam produced a superb routine but ultimately fell on his final move, the dismount, but still managed to come away with 4th place.
